June Zone Conferences: New Albany and Crestwood Zones

The first of the June Zone Conferences was with the New Albany and the Crestwood Zones, held at the Crestwood Stake Center on the 26th.

After the Welcome and Opening Hymn and prayer, Elder Savage led Recitals,
then the Carrolton Elders, Elder J. Wood and Elder Robison, told of a conversion success story and Elder Baker and Elder St. Martin from Clarksville, a Contacting success story. President Woodbury showed and talked about some Auto Safety DVD clips,
then Elder Beagley did a musical number, a beautiful arrangement of "Have I Done Any Good" on the piano. President Woodbury did instruction about the subject of tithing, then all took a short break.
Coming back, the missionaries heard from Stake President Porter
and President Blackwell of the Mission Presidency
who both spoke about their personal experiences regarding the Book of Mormon.
Sister Woodbury then talked about a Christ-like Attribute, this time, patience.
Lunch was served by the wonderful local Relief Society sisters which merited the customary "thank-you" from the Elders and Sisters, "Called to Serve" GKLM-style.

 After lunch, Sister Woodbury led everyone in two times through of our Missionary Medley with Elder Beagley and his magic hands at the piano. 

Awards were given out afterward for the Cleanliness Questionnaire that Sister Woodbury created a year ago, with a plastic container of her "famous" chocolate chip cookies given to the winners, three having a 4.0 GPA and one having a 4.1! (There is an extra point given for color-coordinating your clothes.)

The group split into two at that point and each set of Zone Leaders conducted their Zone Meeting and Training sessions with their respective Zone members. 

Back together, all heard testimonies of those who will be finishing their missions before the next conference: ELder Cook, Elder Corry, Hermana Taylor, Elder Wiggins, Elder Day, Elder Clark, Hermana Estrada, and Hermana Gardner. 

President Woodbury had some concluding remarks and encouragement, 

and then after a closing song and prayer, the conference was officially over.

As everyone left the chapel, Sister Woodbury had envelopes for each person with photos that she had taken since last Zone Conference, and also chocolate chip cookies, two each, along with copies of the Trumpet for which she is responsible. 

Everyone met in the gym for Zone and small group pictures, visiting and lots of missionary hugs. (See previous post about the latter.)  

No one seems to need encouragement when Sister Woodbury says, "Now you can do whatever you want..."

Everyone girded up their loins, so to speak, took a last deep breath of the cool air-conditioned church air, and bravely stepped out into the oppressive heat 

and humidity outside.
