Crestwood and New Albany Zones Conference

       The May Zone Conferences were terrific. The second day of them occurred on Wednesday, May 22, 2013 with the combined Crestwood and New Albany Zones.

        Elder Daynes conducted, Elder Leake did the opening prayer and Sister Egbert led Recitals. Hermana Messerly, Hermana Bunkall, and Hermana Carnahan gave a contacting success story and Elder Hildebrant and Elder J. Johnson presented a conversion story. President Woodbury talked about auto safety and Sister Woodbury had everyone fill-out the Cleanliness Survey, awarding homemade chocolate chip cookies to the winners. Elder Daynes talked about how to update referrals in the Church automated system then Sister Woodbury led the Missionary Medley. Stake President Porter and Mission  Presidency Counselor Blackwell spoke then Elder Rollins sang a beautiful musical number. Sister Woodbury did a workshop on effective lesson -planning and follow-up then President Woodbury addressed the missionaries and did Tune-Ups.
        A delicious lunch was provided by the Relief Society then we sang "Called to Serve" to thank them for their kindness and service.

       After lunch two training sessions were held, with one Zone going with President Woodbury for training on how to begin to teach, and the other going with the Assistants to the President, Elder Warner and Elder Daynes, to be trained on using the Book of Mormon more effectively to contact and teach, then trading locations and subjects. In the former, President Woodbury had the Elder and Sisters do a speed-beginning teaching exercise, sort-of like speed-dating, which was very effective and confidence-building.

        Crestwood Zone Leaders, Elder Thomas and Elder Rigby, and New Albany Zone Leaders Elder Ahern and Elder Berube took their respective Zone members and did training, then everyone reconvened in the chapel to hear the testimonies of the missionaries who will be going home before the next Zone Conference, namely Elder Lipsh, Elder Clawson, Elder Gardner, Elder Ahern, Elder Rigby, Elder Leake, Elder Moorhouse, Elder Gill,  Elder Warner, and Elder Daynes. President Woodbury did also did some wrap-up comments.
        Afterward. gathering in the gym, whole group shots were taken as well as smaller ones. Trumpet newsletters were handed out, copies of pictures that Sister Woodbury has taken in the last few months, and  two-each chocolate chip cookies because Sister Woodbury loves them and can't stand to see less tidy missionaries cry and beg cookies off those who won cookies for their cleanliness.

        President Woodbury met with a number of Sisters and Elders with problems or needing Temple Recommend renewals then it was back for everyone to their areas and being amazing missionaries
