March Mission Leadership Council

With the doorbell ringing and the traditional singing from the front walkway, it was the start of another wonderful Mission Leadership Council.

March 11th was the day, a week later than usual to coordinate with an additional meeting that evening. Joining us for the first time were Zone Leaders Elder Burdge, Elder Rasmussen, and Elder Haws, and Sister Training Leaders Hermana Evans, Sister Reeder, and Sister Logan. It was also the first time for Elder Whitehead as an Assistant to the President.
It was business as usual for the day with welcome and opening song and prayer, calendaring and plans, and the Accountabilities for each Zone and Sister Training Leader area. Lunch was a delicious shredded chicken burrito bar with "Death By Chocolate" for dessert (a warm chocolate and pecan brownie base, ice-cream, and chocolate sauce with chocolate curls).

After lunch there was training, Tune-Ups and instruction, council matters, and the testimony of Elder Knudsen who goes home before the next MLC.
The Council continued an hour longer than usual, to 5:00, then the group picture was taken.

Sister Woodbury served another meal of chili, bread, and leftovers from lunch, then everyone left about 6:00 to get over to the Louisville Stake Center. Elder Hymas of the Seventy had arranged a meeting of all six Stake Presidents in the mission, including those from Lexington (2), Evansville, New Albany, and Crestwood, and Louisville, to meet with the Mission Leadership Council to coordinate member/missionary efforts and align goals and expectations.  Elder Hymas was on his way to do the same in the other missions to which he is assigned in the days that followed.
