Lexington North Zone Conference - June 11th

The text for this and the other six articles about the June Zone Conferences is the same but the pictures are from the individual conference.

This round of Zone Conferences went wonderfully well, in the instruction given, the presentations done, and as a farewell to President and Sister Woodbury who would be leaving for home on the 27th of the month.
On June 5th the all-day conference was with the Evansville Zone, the 6th with Louisville Central Zone, the 10th with Lexington Zone, Lexington North Zone on the 11th, Crestwood Zone on the 12th, Louisville West Zone on the 13th, and on the 17th, the New Albany Zone.

In each location the Zone members heard contacting and conversion success stories from several companionships, instruction and Tune-Ups from President Woodbury, and message from either the local Stake President or a counselor in the Mission Presidency, sometimes both. Sister Woodbury did the Cleanliness Survey and awards and led the Missionary Medley for the last time. She and President Woodbury talked about and introduced the new Mission President and his wife, President and Sister Brough, who would be arriving on the 26th, and those missionaries who would be going home before the next Zone Conference had the chance to speak and bear their testimonies. Three break-out training sessions were held, one before lunch and two after. President Woodbury led one session in which he emphasized reading and using the Book of Mormon with investigators. In their session the Assistants to the President, Elder Dopp and Elder Tuttle, trained on having a personal witness of the Book of Mormon and helping investigators gain their own witness through the power of the Holy Ghost. The Zone Leaders conducted the third training session on an aspect of using the Book of Mormon of their own choosing. Everyone had the opportunity to learn and practice the various principles and techniques that were presented as they rotated through the three groups.

At the completion of the three sessions, everyone met back in the chapel for the farewell messages of President and Sister Woodbury. The Spirit was strong and the emotions felt were tender.
After the conference was over a group photo was taken, copies of the current Trumpet newsletter given out and individual envelopes containing copies of photos Sister Woodbury had taken since the last Zone Conference, and Sister Woodbury’s homemade chocolate chip cookies. Missionaries had the opportunity to write notes of greeting and welcome to President and Sister Brough. There was also a plethora of pictures taken with President and Sister Woodbury, hugs, goodbyes and more than a few tears shed...
