The New Albany Zone Conference - October 28, 2011

The fourth and last Zone Conference this time around, was held i
                                              the "Spiritual New Albany Zone."

As with the other Zone Conferences, the day began with with a song, prayer, recitals, and a scriptural thought. President Woodbury did a presentation about bike safety, then we had a message by President Blackwell, First Counselor in the Mission Presidency. Sister Ralph did a beautiful musical number, a piano piece she arranged herself.  Stake President Porter spoke followed by Sister Woodbury, then President Woodbury did Tune-Ups and a Review/Emphasis on various topics and policies. GKLM Jeopardy was last of the morning wtih Sister Woodbury as Your Host, the Assistants, Elder Lewis and Elder C. Johnson as Audience Cheerleaders, and President Woodbury as Score-Keeper. Since it was in the chapel we didn't get any photos, but if you're interested is seeing a bit of what it was like, go to the post of the Evansville Zone and you'll get the idea - same format, just different participants. And the Grand Prize was a giant Kit-Kat bar. (Hot diggity dog!)
A tasty lunch was served in the Cultural Hall, provided by the local Relief Society, and to thank the sister, as is tradition, we sang the GKLM version of "Called to Serve."

In the afternoon, President Woodbury conducted teaching and training with the assistance of the Assistants (!). The Zone Leaders, Elder Winn and Elder Hammond, did their training and follow-ups, and the missionaries who will be leaving soon bore their testimonies, namely Elder Lewis, Elder Hammond, Sister Ralph and Sister Blevins.  After President Woodbury wrapped it up, and a song and prayer, the official conferences was over. But of course, a mini Trick-Or-Treat had to happen and many, many pictures before everyone left for their areas and appointments.
Zone Conferences were over for now, but all left renewed and invigorated.
