April Transfers

Transfer Days are the greatest! To see the just-arrived missionaries with their enthusiasm and nervousness on Monday, on Tuesday, the out-going missionaries, so seasoned and strong, and those missionaries who are transferring areas and companions in between, gives a pretty good representation of the gamut of the missionary experience. This Transfer was no exception.
Our arriving group April 23rd, was small, but still terrific. We only had two Elders scheduled to come, Elder Ham and Elder Robison, so President Woodbury requested two Visa Waiters, missionaries who have been called to other missionaries but have yet to receive their Visas. In this case, the Visa Waiters were Elder Dominquez and Elder Ramos, both called to Argentina, but for now, part of the best mission in the world, the GKLM!
After settling in at the Mission Home for the the evening, and having intitial pictures taken, the missionaries had their interviews with the President while Sister Woodbury did Orientation. Dinner with the Assistants to the President and the Lewises and Warners from the Mission Office, followed by a special tesimony meeting which began with a skit by the Assistants. Then the exhausted Elders took off to the Elders bunk room for a deserved good night's sleep.

Wednesday morning, Sister Woodbury served a hot breakfast 5:00 a.m. and everyone left for the airport by 5:40, that is, everyone but Sister Delgado who was picked up at hte Mission Home by her lovely family and some friends.
It's become harder and harder as each group leaves us to return home to their families and their other life. These wonderful missionaries are so dear to our hearts and we are so grateful for their devoted service and the people the Lord has made of them.
Bon Voyage and Hoorah for Israel!
