So what is happening when sixteen handsome young men with short haircuts, dark suits, white shirts and ties ring the doorbell and start singing to you? No, its not a men's group of Tabernacle Choir singers who got lost trying to get to the Conference Center, nor is it an assemblage of wannabe businessmen who heard this was Donald Trumps's address and want to be on this year's "The Apprentice," and its not a bunch of very well-dressed homeless men who happened to be walking by and smelled something good wafting from the kitchen and decided to sing for their supper (although it's not far from the truth.) No, it is none of these scenarios, but rather is the monthly conclave of Zone Leaders plus Assistants to the President at none other than Zone Leader Council. And yes, they do kind of have to sing for their supper, or rather lunch, before coming inside.
In this month's meeting, the affairs of the Kingdom were discussed while sitting around the long table in the living room of the Mission Home. Each Zone Leader pair presented in effect a "State of the Zone" summary of their stewardship, followed by the aforementioned meal, and the rest of the time, before and after was spent deliberating about policies, problems, and politics (not really the last thing - I just wanted to see if you were awake) and receiving counsel and training from President Woodbury. Six hours later most everyone left, though some lingered to get Temple Recommends and discuss special matters before departing.
It's too bad Donald Trump didn't stop by. He would have been impressed.
