January 2013 Interviews

 This round of Interviews with the President was wonderful as it always is. Generally the interviews take two and half weeks, but this time it was over a three week period. Some nasty weather including an ice storm, made us have to cancel one of the District groups and in another, only part of the District was able to make it. The former was made up a week later, another three hour trip to and from, but the ones missed in the latter are still to be done. Hopefully President Woodbury can meet with those missionaries this next week or after Zone Conferences the following week. 

In each location the idea is to have a somewhat shortened District Meeting first so President Woodbury and I can hear each companionship's Accountability regarding their most progressing investigators. We then go in two rooms, usually next to each other, President taking one missionary and me taking the other, then trading. His is the formal interview, the most meaningful, but I also get chance to talk more informally, and oftentimes acquire additional insight to what the President hears. 

Except in the case of a District having only one set of Sisters, in which case the companions come out at the same time, the companionships are split up so that one of them is in the training being conducted by the Assistants at all times. As I said, the schedule is such that we should get to each in time to hear the Accountabilities, but in some cases, especially in the later Districts in day, the previous District's interviews go over so we are late to the next one. WIth three and sometimes four Districts in a day, at locations thirty to ninety minutes apart, and some missionaries talking longer than others,  its tricky to make the connections on time, but, we do our best.
