President, It's Cold Outside!

Disclaimer: No missionaries were harmed in the creation of this post. All did eventually thaw and are once again pursuing their dreams as Elders and Sisters in the GKLM...

Anyone who lives in the the eastern part of the United States knows how cold this winter has been, the coldest in thirty-five years, and those who live in Kentucky and southern Indiana, like the amazing missionaries of the Great Kentucky Louisville Mission, know it up close and personal.

        During days when it didn't get above 3 degrees, with humidity and windchill that made it feel even colder,

and other days when it was a few degrees warmer, but still biting,

its taken added courage, but the GKLM Elders and Sisters have gone out out to do their work, spreading the warm message of the Restored Gospel of Jesus Christ on foot, on bikes, and the lucky ones in cars. On gloomy days, and freezing nights they have kept going, kind of like Energizer Bunnies. 

        Nothing can stop a GKLM missionary!

    The following is what we are seeing as we go around the mission. The porous limestone on the side of the roads that during the summer always looks damp, is looking like this this year.

 And trees are wrapped in a quarter to half inch of ice.

        On the rare occasion that the sun breaks through it looks like everything is covered in dazzling diamonds! (The pictures don't do it justice.)

So the moral is: There's always a bright side, even in frigid weather,  if you'll just look for it!
