Pre-Transfers and the Transition of the Assistants to the President

        After many days and nights of thought and study, and many, many prayers, the Transfer Board was ready to go at the Mission Home. President Woodbury, as always, made the decisions, but had called in Sister Woodbury often to consult and consider with him. By Friday morning before the Transfer this is what the board looked like, the colored squares marking the new missionaries that would be arriving on Monday next to those who were to be Trainers (the specific new missionary would not be assigned to the specific Trainer until after they had been interviewed the first night after they arrived), the pictures of the missionaries being moved being sideways, and those going home at the end of the Transfer, upside down, and a few Post-Its regarding the next Transfer. The name of the Zone is at the top with the Zone Leader pictures under them, the yellow strips are the Districts, and the white strips are the Areas. Little squares to the side of pictures indicate the District Leaders. Sister Training Leaders have a yellow strip between the two pictures.

        Moving over to the Mission Office, President and Sister moved the corresponding pictures around to reflect the changes made on the board at the Mission Home, then it was time to bring in the Assistants from the back area where they work when they are there. This is a transition Transfer for the Assistants in that Elder Whitehead would be going home five days later and the new Assistant had been called and brought in for the meeting. The local District has their meeting on Friday mornings at the church next door and always are coming in to the office to get their mail and see if they can spot the new AP. This is how he was disguised, though if anyone knows him, they were not fooled. As pictured in the last shot, Elder Tuttle was the Elder under the sack, joining Elder Dopp. and temporarily Elder Whitehead, as the newest Assistant to the President. 

        The board in the President's office looks like this, 
similarly oriented and coded, with added detail that there are dots on the sides of the picture cards that indicate whether or not they can drive and leadership positions they have had. There are also round magnets with each Area name that have the number of the car that is assigned to it, that is if it is a car area.
        After a prayer, President Woodbury went over every companionship and the assignments he had made. The Assistants made comments from time to time and several changes were made after consideration of the group, the President having the ultimate say in the matter.

When all was said and done, the group knelt in prayer again, then went to lunch to welcome Elder Tuttle and celebrate getting this far with the Transfer.
        Saturday morning, President Woodbury and the Assistants met again to begin the 
call-out", President handling the phone calls for leadership and special assignments, and the Assistants handling all the other transfers by text or phone calls. Sister Woodbury finished the shopping for all the food needed and started cooking, getting the main courses and desserts and part of the salads done before Monday, and President submitted the letters  that had been sent to him by the departing missionaries, to be bound into books for them to take home. He also prepared letters for the new Trainers, and letters to the Bishops and Branch Presidents introducing the new missionaries in their units and multiple other tasks. 
        All was made ready. Full-speed ahead to Transfers!
