Follow the Leader

 It would be hard to find a better way to start our first experience with the Zone Leader Council than to hear the doorbell ring and open the door to find all fourteen Zone Leaders and the two Assistants lining the front pathway, singing "Ye Elders of Israel." Wow! It doesn't get much better than that! We didn't know whether to cry from joy or split our cheeks smiling; it was that great!

    

     Welcoming our wonderful ZL's and AP's into the mission home was a pleasure, and all happily trotted downstairs (did you get the horse/Derby reference there?) for their meeting and training. Elder Cope did his magic at the piano to begin the meeting (he's incredible!) for the Opening Song which was followed by  prayer. Each Zone Leader companionship then did their "Accountability," telling how their Zone was doing and what they as leaders were doing to motivate their missionaries and fulfill their goals. President Woodbury did "Tune-Ups," instructing, clarifying, answering questions, etc. then starting Training, including watching PReach My Gospel DVD segments that applied to the topics referenced.

     At lunch time, everyone went upstairs to the main floor for deli-sandwiches and ice-cream sandwiches for dessert, then back downstairs for more training. At the end, the Elders who were leaving at the Transfer a few days later, bore their testimonies, and the day was, of course, ended with another rousing song and prayer.

     Having the combined energy, enthusiasm, and power of those fine young in our home made the rooms seem overly full while they were here, and strangely empty when they left. What phenomenal Elders! (And they can serenade us on the front sidewalk any day!)
