In the GKLM. . . . . We Baptize!

You've read our posts about newly arriving missionaries and departing ones, Transfer days, Zone Conferences, Leadership Councils, training, and missionary hugs... Still, it seems like something is missing... Oh, yes ---- that's right! It's baptism! Because as every missionary in our mission will tell you, "In the GKLM - we BAPTIZE!

As the Mission President and his wife, we go to as many baptism services as we can. Unfortunately, there are often distances involved and most are scheduled on Saturday afternoon or evening, so, since we can't be at more than one place at one time, we can't attend them all. Those that we witness are incredible, spiritual feasts as we see wonderful sons and daughters of God follow the example of the Savior, enter the baptismal font and come out washed clean of their sins. Without exception they do so smiling, radiant and glowing. What a blessing to be a part of that transforming ordinance!

I take pictures at all the baptisms we attend, but the rest have to be experienced vicariously as we receive photos from the missionaries either attached to the weekly e-mails to the President or printed and sent through regular mail. Not everyone remembers to send them, but for those that do, their images are quickly posted to the Baptism Board at the Mission Home in the front hallway.
