A Day in the Life - Part Twelve: Technology and Media

         Although focused on the work of inviting others to come unto Christ, missionaries are not totally out of the loop regarding technology. In fact they use it for several aspects of their work. On Mondays they go to libraries to e-mail their weekly letters to President Woodbury and to their families. During the week they can go back to the library for short periods to research Mormon.org, the missionary site of the Church, where each has his or her own profile, and where they can refer people they meet so they can find out more about what Mormons believe, view videos, and check out profiles of the missionaries, people in their area, or others with similar interests, jobs, families, etc. The pass-along cards they give out advertise Mormon.org and most list the individual missionary's profile URL. If people are interested in learning more they can fill out a form on the site and the referral will go  to the local Elders and Sisters anywhere in the world. 

        The Family Search facilities at the meeting houses are another way to bring people to our buildings and share our beliefs in eternal families and temple work.

       As for media, missionaries send their orders in to Sister Lewis at the office who then requisitions Book of Mormons, DVDs, pamphlets, and other materials from Salt Lake as needed.
